Testing fire pumps with the Hose Monster means that property damage, inaccurate and inconsistent readings go away. The 2 1/2" Hose Monster cancels the thrust and is FM Approved for accuracy.
Options
2 1/2" Hose Monster with built-in pitot
The Hose Monster comes with a built-in, reversible pitot. Minimize pitot damage by rotating the pitot into the downstream position while flushing debris is present. When the water clears, reposition it into the read position. If a pitot becomes damaged, in spite of these precautions, it can easily be replaced in the field with simple hand tools. (PCK Pitot Changeout Kit) We also offer a repair service for damaged pitots at about 1/3 of the price of a new one.
UL/FM Nozzle Inserts
Nozzle Inserts are used to reduce the nozzle diameter for reading lower flow rates. Simply slip a Nozzle Insert into the inlet of the Hose Monster and attach the male end of the hose. Because the Nozzle Insert is the correct length, the nozzle outlet is positioned 1/2 the diameter from the pitot. They are available in two sizes of 1 1/8" and 1 3/4" so you can read flow rates as low as 118 GPM.

2 1/2" Hose Monster with the Pitotless Nozzle™
Tire of dealing with pitot problems? The FM Approved Pitotless Nozzle eliminates the expense and inconvenience of pitot change-outs and repairs. The patented Pitotless Nozzle measures internal nozzle pressure without the use of a pitot. Most debris will pass harmlessly through it without affecting the nozzle. The Pitotless Nozzle can be added to your existing Hose Monster with pitot, or the 2 1/2" Hose Monster Flusher.
When the Pitotless Nozzle is used with a Hose Monster equipped with a pitot, the pitot would be positioned downstream. It won't affect the Pitotless Nozzle readings. If a new setup is being purchased, the less expensive Hose Monster flusher unit can be used.
