Gauge Selection Notes
Some manufacturers rate the accuracy of gauges at 2-1-2. This means 2% for the first third, 1% for the middle two-thirds and 2% for the last third.
Example #1: A zero to 100 PSI gauge would read 2% accuracy from 0-33, 1% from 34-66 and 2% from 67-100.
Our gauges are rated at 1/2% (or 1% if 2 1/2" dial) of full scale.
Example #2: A zero to 100 PSI gauge, 1/2% accuracy rated, would read within 0.5 PSI accuracy at both 10 PSI and at 90 PSI.
Example #3: A zero to 60 PSI gauge, 1/2% accuracy rated, would read within 0.3 PSI accuracy at both 10 PSI and at 50 PSI.
For best accuracy it makes sense to use a gauge with a smallest range. If gauge readings are anticipated to be around 30 PSI all the time, it would be better to use a 0-60 PSI gauge than a 0-100. The demarcation increments are wider and easier to read with the smaller range gauge.
